Dover & Deal Decorative and Fine Arts Society was founded to provide local people with the opportunity to come together to enhance and expand their knowledge and enjoyment of the arts.
We meet in the historic Guildhall in Sandwich on the first Tuesday morning of the month, with a summer break in July and August. We offer a programme of excellent illustrated lectures on a wide range of subjects given by professionals who are experts in their chosen fields. We meet for coffee at 10.15am and the lecture runs from 11 to 12.00, followed by a brief question and answer session.
We hold an annual Day of Special Interest which deals with a specific subject in greater depth. We also offer outings to exhibitions or places of interest and organise trips further afield both in the UK and abroad. Members have the opportunity to become involved in conservation projects as Heritage Volunteers or become a part of our team of Church Recorders.
Dover & Deal DFAS is a member society of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies. Our members receive the free quarterly magazine on all aspects of the arts: The NADFAS Review.
We welcome visitors and new members. More information is available from the Membership Secretary on 01227 728518.
